BlackBerry PlayBook released: sells 50,000 first day

The device "BlackBerry PlayBook" was released for general purchase in the United States on April 19, 2011, and early sales figures note that approximately fifty thousand (50,000) were sold on launch day.The Manufacturer "Quanta Computer" released these Tablet Type media player with BlackBerry Tablet OS (QNX) Operating system .

Despite the embrace of the iPad by consumers, the demand from businesses and governments for tablets remains, at best, unclear. “It’s still very, very early stages,” said Mike Abramsky, an equity analyst with RBC Capital Market, a unit of the Royal Bank of Canada, who said that small businesses currently accounted for most nonpersonal use of tablets.


Motorola Xoom – this is another Android tablet but this one runs on the latest Android 3.0 Honeycomb. It competes to the Playbook when it comes to the processor, browser and web technologies and cameras.It comes with a cost of $499-$699, depending on which Playbook you choose. The 16GB Wi-Fi Playbook will cost $499, 32GB Wi-Fi Playbook will cost $599 and the 64GB Wi-Fi Playbook will cost $699. RIM will also be offering an LTE version, but price and date have not been released.
