Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music is a 1965 American musical film directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The film is based on the Broadway musical The Sound of Music, with songs written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, and with the musical book written by the writing team of Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Ernest Lehman wrote the screenplay.

The musical originated with the book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp. It contains many popular songs, including "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "Do-Re-Mi", "Sixteen Going on Seventeen", and "The Lonely Goatherd", as well as the title song.The Sound of Music cast was featured on Oprah in October, but the reunion episode was re-aired on the 27th – one episode of Oprah’s favorite last season.

The Sound of Music cast reunited to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the film.

Most notably, the original Sound Music entire cast – including Christopher Plummer, who never do things – graced the stage Oprah to talk about, what 1965 film was made and some events behind the scenes.

During the reunion cast Sound of Music, Julie Andrews talking about vocal chord surgery and notebooks. Unfortunately, the husband of Andrews’, Blake Edwards, has just died.
