Markoff was a Boston University medical student charged with the 2009 murder of Julissa Brisman, a masseuse he was said to have met via a Craigslist appointment. Markoff, who pleaded not guilty, was also charged with robbing another masseuse at gunpoint four days prior to the murder. He was supposed to go on trial this month, but was found dead in his cell last August — one day after what was supposed to be his first wedding anniversary. His fiancee, who originally stood up for him when he was apprehended for the crimes, broke off the engagement in June 2009.
He graduated in 2004 from Vernon-Verona-Sherill High School,where he was a member of the National Honor Society, history club and the Youth Court, as well as the school bowling and golf teams. His former English teacher and neighbor described him as "a good student and just a really nice kid. Smart, wanting to succeed, nothing strange, nothing out of the ordinary."
After high school, Markoff attended SUNY Albany where he was a pre-med student and member of the Young Republicans. He graduated from SUNY Albany in 2007. He was a second year medical student at Boston University School of Medicine at the time of the crimes, and was suspended from the school following the charges against him
Lifetime’s film — already reviewed by a number of sites including The New York Times — seems to be a straightforward retelling of the case, with some details drawn from the book A Date with Death: The Secret Life of the Accused Craigslist Killer by Michelle McPhee. Jake McDorman and Agnes Bruckner play Markoff and his fiancee, respectively, while William Baldwin portrays the lead detective on the case.
exactly he isnt a serial killer, if anything i have pity for him. clearly there was something mentaly wrong with him. for a med student at BU in the top 5% of his class to be so careless when commiting crimes and to be a sex addict clearly constitutes for us to have pity for him and his fiance megan. its just horrible that his one murder has him labled as the craigslist killer and that it drove him to commit suicide.but he cheated the family out of closure so he was a damn coward and its sad cause he had a beautiful fiance n men are never satisfied.. I’m an entertainer and I meet married n engaged guys all the time and they always want extra he just took it to the extreme…so hell no I don’t pitty his ass…but my heart goes out to his beautiful ex fiance and his parents n those who lost their daughter cs they have to live with not understanding why n what made him click…
